Paddle attachment

I love my 7 quart mixer it's going on 3 years now and still works wonderful. The only issue is the paddle attachment coating flakes off. I now have to buy a new paddle. To bad the attachments aren't as durable and dependable as the mixer.

My second beater chipped too!
Michigan Grandma

I love my mixer! Waited years for one. However, this is my second beater to chip like this. I really can't believe that there has not been a change in how these are made. It is dangerous, annoying and embarrassing! I thought I just received a bad one the first time, but it happened again! Please find a solution. I can't keep buying these!

I have had this beater for a little over a year. Although it functions well, I am replacing it because the coating has chipped in several places. It is horrifying to think that the coating may have gone into food prepared for consumption. If this has been an ongoing problem, this item should have been recalled.

I don't bake much. So I find it disappointing that it has chipped. In addition, I'm not finding any other options to replace it with.

I love my quart 7 EXCEPT the fact that I have gone through my second paddle and both have multi chips on them. I paid over $700.00 Canadian for this and you would think they would use better materials. Do I really want to buy a third now? Uggggghhhhh
Veryyyy frustrating.

Extremely disappointed in the quality - KitchenAid

This is the THIRD beater I have had to purchase in two years. I bake routinely, but not so much that this beater should start to chip. And when I first realized this, I had to throw out (waste) an entire batch of cookies because of the possibility of someone eating those chips! Also - at $27, spending $50 in two years for something that touts quality is unacceptable. I have no choice, however, to purchase a new beater, or my $500 mixer investment is worthless. We've given KitchenAid mixers as wedding gifts over the years, I've had to go back to those recipients and tell them of the problems we had - pretty embarrassing to have to tell gift recipients we've given them something that will flake off paint and metal chips into their food.....

I have had mine for several years. It started chipping almost immediately, but there were no solutions offered at the time I complained and Bed Bath and Beyond stopped carrying the mixer blade so I couldn't return it there. I am not found of the galvanized one either, it imparts residue from the metal into whatever you art making

The beater actually functions well but after 2 1/2 years it has chipped. I didn't realize this was a design/production flaw until I read all the reviews from over several years. It's disappointing that a company at the top of their industry has found a solution in all this time.

7 Qt stand mixer coating blistered and coming off
Dwright1218
1/1/2019
I was using my stand mixer today making mashed potatoes for a family dinner for New Year's Day dinner when I noticed the flat beater had what appeared to be a blister but then I realized it was the coating chipping off. In reading the other reviews it appears there is a severe problem. Now I have to pay $40 plus dollars to get another one that sounds like it will have the same problem. This review is only for the beater not the mixer.

Mine came with the 7Qt Pro Line Mixer. What a disappointment to see it came chipped out of the box! They touched it up with paint of the same colour but you can clearly see the edges of area with missing coating. I saved a long time for this mixer thinking I'm going to get a good quality model but I'm not so sure anymore. Reading the other reviews it doesn't look like buying a replacement of the same type is a good idea, they all have this issue!

I got the stand mixer with this attachment for Christmas. I have used my mixer maybe a dozen times, using this beater about half of the time. I only hand wash and there is a chip in the coating. Luckily I saw the chunk of coating and got it removed from my cookie dough. It works very well, but the chipped coating is upsetting. I'm pretty bummed. :/

Chipped Beater after one use!
RealChefofMiami
5/18/2018
After 3 years of wishing for a KitchenAid Stand Mixer, my wish came true for graduation. I was so excited and used the machine the very next day to make cookies. I handwashed the equipment (per instructions) and noticed coating chips missing off the beater! Did I just feed my family, friends and myself cookies for beater chips? Now my brand new KitchenAid mixer has coating missing after a single use!
I don't understand why KitchenAid would continue to coat their products, especially after so many people have complained about the coating!

I absolutely love my KitchenAid mixer! However, I have replaced my beater three times as each one ends up chipping the coating off. So disappointed. But what other choice do I have than to order another.

Beater chipping problem
9/28/2017
I was making cookie dough this week for a Senior Center (as I do every week) and was shocked to find what appeared to be a piece of metal but turned out to be a piece of coating off the beater. I threw the dough away for fear that someone would get a piece in their mouth. My old mixers did not come with coating on the flat beaters so why add it to the new models? I can see this is going to be an ongoing problem. The service person told me it was because the beater was hitting the side if the bowl but it doesn't. Why doe the company not replace these? It appears to be a recall problem?

Poor Service/ Chipping
5/29/2017
Just spoke with a customer service representative. Our mixer started with a crack and it progressed to chips. I was told it was that the beater was touching the bowl. That would be the bottom of the beater not the upper 1/2 where it is cracked and chipping. I would not recommend this and was very disappointed that it was not replaced. This is terrible to have chipped paint in our food! Do not buy!~

Although I've had the mixer almost 5 years and have used it a lot, the coating is chipping off and now I have to replace the beater. The beater is still in great condition otherwise. I usually think of KitchenAid as having such great quality products but in looking at other reviews it seems this is a consistent issue and has been for several years. Thinking this should have been figured out by now...

Very disappointed to see my coated beater that came with the mixer chipping when I the first used my mixer. I was surprised that Kitchenaid would have a product that was not up to their standards. I absolutely love my mixer and all the tasks it can accomplish, but do not appreciate paint flecks in my food.

I have had 3 of these. One came with my mixer and 2 were sent as replacements. They are terrible! The coating chipped off of all 3. I'm ready to see if I can find a different brand that will work with my mixer.

Flat Beater

The coated "flat beater" chipped with almost every use. Considered unaccepteble. I realize that the company says there is no danger but I do not like to think my cakes or perhaps cookies have "coating from the beater" mixed in the batter. Return to no coating. I do not see a benefit from having the beater "coated" any way.
